Preproduction Day II

Yesterday I visited the set of our nearly ready to shoot feature together with our cam-op Moritz. We talked to the director about the whole script, some details and I scouted the different o-sound sources we could use.
We produce in the building of the State Theater Karlsruhe, a really huge building with kind of labyrinth like corridors and stairs like you could exepect it of a ‘Harry Potter’ novel.

It’s very important to check as many details of different rooms of such an authentic location, because it offers a lot of different possibilities and you have to decide which one you will use and what you don’t want to hear later on. After all the director has do decide this, but you have to tell him what you hear.

Preproduction is most of time building a audio-vision you want to realize while producing it later on, this vision is the base of your concept which is the base of your work which is the base of the final soundtrack.

This whole nexus is what you should create in your preproduction to improve the whole. result
